Capricorn’s personality
Capricorns are easy to underestimate. They can appear slow and cautious, the kind of people that won’t be any trouble to anyone. And this ties in with Capricorn’s symbol, the Goat. This creature doesn’t make a fuss, it just moves itself up the mountain, at its own careful pace. No short-cuts, no dangerous manoeuvres, but soon enough it reaches the lofty peak. And one should remember that most Capricorns have a keen sense of self-preservation. Behind their calm façade they’re working out what needs to be done, and they’ll be doing some precise calculations.

In general they don’t like things that are showy or extravagant, and this tends to be reflected in their wardrobe. They prefer clothes that are down to earth and practical, and they often have a disdain for make-up and unnecessary ornaments. But Capricorns don’t need ornamentation. They have a natural beauty, that ages extremely well. In fact it’s often said that as Capricorns grow older in years they grow younger in spirit - so as they progress into middle and old age they become more relaxed and more at ease with themselves.

As far as their minds are concerned, the Goats tend to be quite focused, and if something matters to them, they’ll know everything there is to know about it. But they’ll regard knowledge for knowledge’s sake as a waste of time.

Capricorn in love
Capricorns aren’t particularly emotional. They like relationships to be conducted in a proper and dignified way and, as far as they’re concerned, overt displays of emotion should be kept for special occasions. And their reserved nature is enhanced by their fatalism. They recognise that few things last forever, and however strong the relationship they’re in, they’re aware of the possibility that it could come to an end. Also, the Goats will be asking themselves how they can benefit from a particular relationship, and how it fits in with the other things going on in their life. A partner might be very nice, but if they’re not contributing anything, what’s the point in carrying on with them? By the same logic, it sometimes makes sense for Capricorns to go into a short-term relationship, with a partner who can help them get closer to their ambitions.

Yet in most cases Capricorns are a good, long-term bet. They’re realistic, they understand that once the sparks of youthful passion have died out it’s day-to-day living that matters. And organising domestic, administrative and financial arrangements is not a problem for the average Goat.

Capricorn - money and career
Capricorns understand the importance of having a career, and they realise that nothing happens without hard work. So they’re not looking for immediate results, and they’re ready to grind their way up the rocky path, not hurrying, never stopping. They can therefore deal with work that’s boring, that’s inconvenient, that involves long and unsocial hours. And it’s not uncommon for Capricorns to believe that the end justifies the means. In other words, it’s OK to cause a lot of chaos, destruction and hurt feelings, provided it helps them to achieve their goals.

However, Capricorns don’t have to be ruthless to be successful. As a result of their conscientiousness they can do well in most professions, and if they want they can even be celebrities. Capricorn and celebrity is not a connection one automatically makes, but there’s something about the Goats that’s cool and stylish, not to mention photogenic!
Finally, there’s money. There are usually few problems in this department. Capricorns are careful, and they won’t waste money on bling and assorted junk. Yet for some reason there’s a small minority of Capricorns who are completely irresponsible, who are the worst over-spenders in the Zodiac. Maybe they’re rebelling against their star sign and they need to get real?
